The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has congratulated 16-year-old Osasere Okundaye for becoming Nigeriaโs youngest chartered accountant.
In a statement issued on Monday, the minister described the achievement as a remarkable demonstration of hard work, discipline, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

โI heartily congratulate Miss Osasere Okundaye on her outstanding achievement of becoming Nigeriaโs youngest Chartered Accountant at just 16 years of age. This remarkable milestone is a testament to the power of hard work, discipline, resilience and an unwavering commitment to excellence,โ Olawande said.
He noted that Okundaye’s accomplishment highlights the immense potential of Nigerian youths, adding that her success should inspire other young people to pursue excellence and break barriers.
According to the minister, โOsasere has distinguished herself as a shining example of the limitless potential of Nigerian youth. Her accomplishment reminds us that with determination, dedication and the right support, young Nigerians can set new records and inspire a generation to dream bigger.โ
Olawande also congratulated her parents, family, teachers and mentors for their support and encouragement throughout her journey, saying their sacrifices contributed significantly to her success.
He reaffirmed the Federal Ministry of Youth Developmentโs commitment to implementing programmes and policies that empower young Nigerians to realise their full potential.
The minister added that Okundayeโs achievement reinforces confidence in Nigeriaโs future and wished her greater success in the years ahead.

Okundaye earned the distinction after qualifying as a chartered accountant through the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, becoming the youngest person to attain the professional qualification in the country.
Her achievement surpasses the previous record set in 2022 by Jonathan Adewale, who became Nigeriaโs youngest chartered accountant at the age of 17 after completing the rigorous ICAN professional examinations.
The ICAN qualification is widely regarded as one of Nigeriaโs most demanding professional certifications and is typically earned by graduates and professionals after years of study and examinations.
