Davido to Perform at FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert in Los Angeles

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has been announced as one of the headline performers for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Countdown Concert scheduled to hold in Los Angeles on June 10.

The announcement was made by FIFA, which revealed that Davido will share the stage with Major Lazer, the electronic music project led by renowned American DJ and producer Diplo.

According to FIFA, the Los Angeles event is part of a unique live concert series designed to celebrate the countdown to the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.

The concert will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and is expected to bring together football fans, music lovers and cultural enthusiasts from around the world.

FIFA described the event as a celebration of the passion, unity and cultural diversity that define the World Cup, adding that additional performers will be announced in the coming days.

Speaking on the event, FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Tournament Officer for the United States, Manolo Zubiria, said the concert series will highlight the cultural connections among the three host countries while building excitement ahead of the tournament.

He noted that Los Angeles, one of the world’s leading entertainment hubs, would provide a fitting stage for a global celebration of music and football.

The concert is expected to be broadcast worldwide through FIFA’s digital platforms. Fans will also be able to watch performances from other host cities, including Mexico City and Toronto, through a synchronized live-streaming experience.

FIFA said tickets for the event will be available for purchase from June 3, while the concert will also be streamed live on the FIFA World Cup TikTok account.

In addition, the full concert and exclusive behind-the-scenes content will be made available on FIFA’s video-on-demand platform, VuMe Live, after the event.

Davido’s inclusion in the concert lineup further highlights the growing global influence of African music and its increasing presence on some of the world’s biggest entertainment stages.
