CBN Reshuffles Leadership, Redeploys Deputy Governors

The Central Bank of Nigeria has reassigned all four deputy governors of the institution in a move aimed at strengthening coordination across key departments and aligning leadership responsibilities with the bank’s evolving priorities.

The changes, which took effect on June 1, 2026, were reflected in an updated profile published on the apex bank’s official website.

Under the new arrangement, Philip Ikeazor has assumed responsibility for the Policy Directorate, previously overseen by Muhammad Abdullahi. Abdullahi has now been reassigned to the Corporate Services Directorate.

Similarly, Emem Usoro moved from the Corporate Services Directorate to the Operations Directorate, while Lamido Yuguda was transferred from Operations to the Financial System Stability Directorate.

According to the Central Bank, the redeployment is intended to make effective use of the experience of senior officials in different areas of responsibility and support the institution’s changing priorities.

The bank stated that the exercise would enhance collaboration among strategic departments and strengthen its ability to deliver on its core mandates.
