Segun Ogunwuyi, Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, has resigned from his position, effective Monday, October 12, 2026.
Ogunwuyi confirmed his departure in a resignation letter dated October 12, in which he formally notified the governor of his decision to step down from the role. He described his time in government as an honour and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve Oyo State.
In the letter, the former aide praised the administration’s efforts towards the state’s development, saying he was proud to have contributed to its growth and progress. He also expressed confidence in Oyo State’s continued advancement.
His resignation comes amid a series of departures by political appointees from Makinde’s administration in recent months. Ogunwuyi previously served as a member of both the Oyo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives.
He concluded his letter by expressing gratitude to the governor and reaffirming his commitment to the interests of Oyo State and Nigeria.
