Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has revealed that she continues to face criticism despite losing nearly half of her body weight.
In an emotional post shared on Instagram, the actress reflected on her five-year transformation, disclosing that she reduced her weight from 170kg to 83kg through a combination of surgery, discipline, healthier eating and regular exercise.

Badmus said the journey was filled with pain, sacrifice, setbacks and consistency, describing it as one of the most difficult experiences of her life.
She lamented that many of the same people who mocked her when she was plus-size are now criticising her slimmer appearance.
“The same people who body-shamed me when I was plus-size are the same people body-shaming me now that I’ve lost the weight,” she wrote.

The actress noted that significant weight loss naturally affects the skin and explained that she is doing her best to care for herself while embracing every stage of the transformation.
Badmus urged people to be kinder with their words, saying online insults can be deeply hurtful even when she chooses not to respond publicly.
She also called on women to support one another rather than contribute to body shaming.
“Nobody deserves to be bullied for being plus-size, and nobody deserves to be bullied for losing weight either,” she said.
Eniola Badmus first unveiled her slimmer look in 2021 after a period away from social media. In 2022, she confirmed undergoing gastric bypass surgery in Turkey, saying she made the decision after struggling to control her eating habits and choosing to prioritise her health.
Since then, the actress has continued to speak openly about her transformation and has encouraged people to respect others regardless of body size.
