NCDC Reiterates Health Declaration Rules For Travellers Amid Regional Ebola Concerns

Travellers arriving in Nigeria from countries experiencing Ebola transmission are still required to complete the Nigeria Health Declaration Form and undergo public health screening, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has clarified. The requirement covers travellers arriving from Burundi, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.

The NCDC’s online declaration system requires arriving travellers to provide travel, health and contact information, alongside a mandatory 21-day post-arrival health monitoring requirement. The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has communicated the updated requirements to airlines and other aviation service providers.

The NCDC advised travellers to check its latest guidance before departure, noting that public health requirements may change in response to developments in the regional Ebola situation, as Nigeria maintains enhanced surveillance at airports and other points of entry. The Health Declaration Form is available through the NCDC’s official online portal.
