President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress held in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The primary election took place on Saturday at the APC secretariat in the ward, which is also the home ward of the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.
According to a statement issued by Barau’s media aide, Ismail Mudashir, the Deputy Senate President described the large turnout of party members as a strong indication of support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The returning officer for the exercise, Umar Mohammadu Rabiu, announced that Tinubu defeated his only challenger, Osifo Osayamen Stanley, who failed to secure any vote during the exercise.
Rabiu also disclosed that out of the 1,007 registered and eligible voters in the ward, only three members did not participate in the election. He commended party members for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the exercise.
Speaking after the primary, Barau thanked APC members in the area for their impressive turnout and commitment to the party’s internal democratic process.
The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area, Lawal Najume, also praised the smooth conduct of the election and expressed optimism about the party’s chances in the 2027 presidential election.
